Things Are Shaping Up!

The stairs got placed and we were actually able to walk upstairs. What a tight job site Jeff runs! Everything was perfectly cleaned and really taking shape.

All of the framing has been completed. Windows and doors were delivered. Tomorrow they will install them. Looks like we have a house!

The Roof Is Shaping Up Nicely!

We're back from our Summerville trip - looks like Jeff & his guys were hard at work in the heat finishing framing on the upper floor and getting a great start on the roof.


This is the view from the far side of the living room looking toward the kitchen...the opening to the right will be the bay window in our breakfast nook.

The Framing Goes Vertical!

Everyone say "Hi!" to Jeff Kemp - he's building our new home! They're continuing work on the second floor today. We stopped by on our way out of town and Jeff had his guys already hard at work; he's hoping to have part of the roof on over the weekend.

And We Have A Second Floor

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday the balance of the floor joists went on and today they've begun working on the 2nd floor. The staircase was delivered but won't be installed for a few days now. It's very exciting coming in to town every evening and seeing the progress that has been made each day.

After they finish the 2nd floor we get a roof. Then things will appear to slow down a bit althought they really haven't. Electrical and plumbing comes next - Not much of a photo op. Will keep you all posted!

Let There Be Walls!

This is so cool!

Jeff really cracked the whip yesterday and got the entire first floor framed. We even had floor joists on the 2nd floor on part of the house. I went by this morning at 6:50am and there were already 4 guys working on the 2nd floor. It's just unbelievable how quickly things happen.

Ron didn't get home until after dark, so we headed back over and shined the headlights from the truck at the house and walked through with flashlights. This is really fun!!!!

I can't wait to get home tonight to see how much will be done on the 2nd floor.

Foundation!

So, yesterday was a dry day and the foundation was poured. Yea!!! Framing should start today. This is really getting exciting!
