And We Have A Second Floor

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday the balance of the floor joists went on and today they've begun working on the 2nd floor. The staircase was delivered but won't be installed for a few days now. It's very exciting coming in to town every evening and seeing the progress that has been made each day.

After they finish the 2nd floor we get a roof. Then things will appear to slow down a bit althought they really haven't. Electrical and plumbing comes next - Not much of a photo op. Will keep you all posted!

This is so cool!

Jeff really cracked the whip yesterday and got the entire first floor framed. We even had floor joists on the 2nd floor on part of the house. I went by this morning at 6:50am and there were already 4 guys working on the 2nd floor. It's just unbelievable how quickly things happen.

Ron didn't get home until after dark, so we headed back over and shined the headlights from the truck at the house and walked through with flashlights. This is really fun!!!!

I can't wait to get home tonight to see how much will be done on the 2nd floor.

Foundation!

So, yesterday was a dry day and the foundation was poured. Yea!!! Framing should start today. This is really getting exciting!

Just a quick update...here's a picture of how things looked this morning. Everything is prepped and ready for the foundation to be poured and the lumber package has been delivered. We're very excited. Now if the rain would just hold off for a couple of days!

Let The Games Begin!!!

Undergrounds have been laid, gravel backfilled and rebar in place. However, after about 6" of very needed rain, we were unable to pour foundation. Hopefully this coming week. We should be in framing stage by the end of the week.

In The Beginning

Hi all,

Thanks for logging on. Welcome aboard the journey of the building of our home. I hope to post photos of the significant stages as construction continues. The initial plan is to put in the undergrounds (plumbing, etc.) next week. Target is to be finished towards the middle to end of October. Thank you all for your prayers along the way!
