Walls!!!

So, once again Jeff has had his crews hard at work. Monday we got insulation. Yesterday they hung dry wall throughout the entire house and today was tape and mud day...
not to mention driveway and part of the sidedwalk were poured.

It's really amazing how quickly things move.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and e-mails. We are so excited we have each of you to share the fasinating experience with.

A Magic Paintbrush Came By

The siding contractor worked hard all day on Friday - now we have color!
It's amazing how much character was added to the house in a few hours time.
Apparently they weren't used to the extra windows on the garage, so those didn't get shutters yet, but they will come.

Other good news: the house passed the framing inspection with flying colors by "B___Buster Bob," one of the toughest inspectors.

This weekend they took a break on our house to work on a couple of others that close next week. Next week the insulation & drywall go up, and maybe we'll get sidewalks & a driveway!

Wire, Wire Everywhere!

Jeff's had all the subcontractors hard at work. The entire house has been wired, plumbing is done and even the surround sound wiring is in.

The tallest sheetrock we've ever seen has been delivered. They use 12' pieces of sheetrock so there will be less seams for smoother ceilings.

Final framing inspection is today. Then, after a few minor tweaks, we'll be rocking and rolling again.

Siding and shutters are also going on today. Next week should bring insulation and sheetrock and then we'll really have the feeling of individual rooms.

Wow! Only 5 weeks until closing!!!

A Giant Spider Has Invaded Our Home!!!!!

Well...at least that's what it looks like in the attic. The HVAC systems have been installed and the duct work looks like long black spider legs. Ron will be so happy that he can stay nice and cool.

The bath tubs and shower were also installed. Plumbing, gas and electrial will be finishing up today.

The shingles on the roof should also be finished today before the rain comes.

Drywall is next week.

I can't say enough how exciting this is!

Doors & Windows!

Yea! The doors and windows are in. I really love this front door. We've just started offering glass doors. Ron and I are the first homeowner to have one.

The photos are first from the outside looking in and then from the foyer looking out.

It's really fun going by every evening and seeing what's been completed that day!

Upstairs Study

Things Are Shaping Up!

The stairs got placed and we were actually able to walk upstairs. What a tight job site Jeff runs! Everything was perfectly cleaned and really taking shape.

All of the framing has been completed. Windows and doors were delivered. Tomorrow they will install them. Looks like we have a house!

More Labor Day Pics

This is the view from the back door looking toward the front door.

Linda shows off the back of our house! There are more windows to cut out than seen here.

A few different perspectives from farther away...

The sidewalk in the last picture will wrap around our corner. Looks like they're getting ready to start papering the roof soon.

The Roof Is Shaping Up Nicely!

We're back from our Summerville trip - looks like Jeff & his guys were hard at work in the heat finishing framing on the upper floor and getting a great start on the roof.

This is the view from the far side of the living room looking toward the kitchen...the opening to the right will be the bay window in our breakfast nook.

The Framing Goes Vertical!

Everyone say "Hi!" to Jeff Kemp - he's building our new home! They're continuing work on the second floor today. We stopped by on our way out of town and Jeff had his guys already hard at work; he's hoping to have part of the roof on over the weekend.

Jeff made us stand in the front door to have our picture taken too...
